Olivia
Hello Olivia, let's recap it all: Your cost of the bareboat charter, including is but payment will be splited in different amounts, paid to separate entities, for clarification, here’s the full timeline. It may look like a lot of steps, but it’s actually very smooth and simple.
I just like to lay everything out clearly so nothing gets missed.
1) Today Reservation & Security Deposit : . Your charter for Sat Feb 07 2026 18:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time) is secured. At boarding, your original reservation deposit converts into a security deposit to cover eventual damages. The security deposit is there in case something is damaged or missing—meaning something that actually costs money to repair or replace, or if the boat is left excessively messy and requires extra cleaning time.
After the charter, once the captain clears the boat (≈99% of trips), we refund it within 24 hours, minus fees and, if you didnt tip separately, minus the tip amount you choose for the crew, (typically 15% to 20% of the total cost of your charter).
2) Up to two days before the trip – Captain Selection. The crew company will send you a list of available captains. You’ll choose one, and the captain will contact you directly (this is a legal requirement for bareboat charters).
3) The day before the trip – Balance Payment. The remaining balance for the boat portion is due Paid on BoatSetter. We'll reach out to you to settle this before boarding time.
The captain will also reach out to you to agree on the crew balance payment method. The amonut due is 300
4) Day of the charter – Arrival You’ll come to Bahia Mar Yachting Center (Seabreeze Blvd, Fort Lauderdale). Parking instructions will be sent separately
5) 20 minutes before departure – Meet at Gate B. Please have your full group present. A crew member will meet you at Gate B and help bring everything to the boat. By this point, you and the captain will already be in direct communication.
6) Onboard – Paperwork & Quick Tour We’ll do a brief walkthrough to confirm the boat’s condition. You’ll sign: Bareboat charter agreement Liability release Separate agreement with the crew It’s quick and straightforward. Please bring your driver’s license.
7) Itinerary Discussion The captain will review weather conditions and suggest options — or you can tell them where you’d like to go. Cruising, swimming , sightseeing?. Your call Remember: the crew works for you, not for me — legally and in practice.
8) Safety Briefing The captain will give a short safety briefing that everyone onboard needs to hear.
9) Departure Lines off — you’re underway. be ready. the views are stunning. keep your eyes open and enjoy.
10) Return & Disembarkation
Near the end of the charter, the wrapping process begins. The boat needs to be returned in the same condition it was received. That’s when the clock stops.
The good news: you don’t clean it—the crew does. As they begin cleaning and resetting areas, those spaces become off-limits. For example, if a bathroom is cleaned, please switch to another one. If an area is tidied up, try not to reopen it.
Just work with the crew during this final stretch—it helps them prepare the boat properly and ensures your security deposit is returned smoothly.
11) Post-Charter Walkthrough
You and the captain will do a quick check of the boat. Just to be clear—we’re not expecting a rinsed boat. The final rinsing happens after everyone is off, and it is not part of the charter time.
Normal use is completely fine. The security deposit is only there in case something is damaged or missing—meaning something that actually costs money to repair or replace, or if the boat is left excessively messy and requires extra cleaning time.
12) Crew Gratuity
As you’re wrapping up and about to leave the boat after arrival, this is the moment to show the crew some appreciation.
Typical gratuity is 15–20% of the charter price, and the captain splits it 50/50 with the mate. They accept Zelle, Venmo, or cash

12) Post-Charter Walkthrough You and the captain will do a quick check of the boat. Just to be clear — we’re not expecting a spotless boat. Normal use is completely fine. Drinks, crumbs, wet floors, general mess — that’s all part of boating and covered under regular cleaning. If everything looks good (which is 99.9% of the time), the captain confirms with me and I release the deposit.

Hey! Hope you're excited and ready for your boat ride! Let's get the payments out of the way so all that's left is enjoying the day. The remaining balance for the boat is $Paid on BoatSetter I'm sending you a link to settle that. The captain has to ask proof of payment before leaving the dock. Also, the captain will reach out directly to coordinate payment of the crew balance, which is $300. You have already paid a deposit of . That deposit will be refunded after the charter once the boat is returned in good condition.
Hey Olivia! I noticed you didn't add the floating mat. That's perfectly fine if you're bringing your own, but if not, just let us know in advance because we rent them from a third-party supplier for $50.
It really changes the experience once you're anchored. Instead of everyone staying on the boat, it creates a huge floating lounge where people can swim, relax, sunbathe, or just hang out in the water. It's one of the most popular add-ons we offer, and guests almost always tell us it was worth it.
Hey, just checking in. The client Olivia Taber for the charter on Sat Feb 07 2026 18:00:00 GMT+0000 (Coordinated Universal Time) mentioned that neither you nor captain management has reached out yet. Is that correct?
Have you already contacted them? If so, could you please confirm? If not, would you mind reaching out as soon as you can and letting me know once you've made contact? Here's the number Thanks!
